ONE Championship is breaking new ground in “The Land of the Rising Sun,” as the promotion kicks off its monthly Japanese blockbuster series, ONE SAMURAI, at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena on Wednesday, April 29.

This historic inaugural event will be topped by a dream rematch of epic proportions, and fans across the globe will see both the crowning of the ONE Interim Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion and a true Japanese martial arts icon walk to the ring for the last time.

Takeru “Natural Born Krusher” Segawa has redemption on his mind and gold in his sights. The Japanese sensation suffered the toughest loss of his career, getting knocked out by Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon in their long-awaited clash in a mere 80 seconds in March 2025.

But instead of folding, Takeru rebuilt his confidence, refined his world-class skills, and finished a top contender to put himself back on higher ground. Now, he has a chance to exact some revenge against his most heated rival, celebrate with his hometown crowd one final time, and ride off into the sunset as a World Champion.

Rodtang, however, intends to play the spoiler – and he has extra motivation this time around. “The Iron Man” is a former six-time ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion, and he desperately wants to claim another belt and achieve his dream of being a two-sport king. In order for the Thai megastar to fulfill his destiny, he must beat a kickboxing legend he has grown to admire and leave all emotion at the door.

In addition, Takeru’s Team Vasileus stablemate Yuki Yoza finally gets his wish. Ever since he joined the world’s largest martial arts organization a year ago, he has called out ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Jonathan “The General” Haggerty. And after decimating two of the promotion’s most revered kickboxing titleholders, he will challenge the Brit for the richest prize in the sport.

Plus, ONE Flyweight MMA World Champion Yuya “Little Piranha” Wakamatsu returns to the Ariake Arena for his second title defense. The Japanese star is at the peak of his powers, having just finished the most dominant flyweight and strawweight in ONE Championship history. But now, he defends his coveted belt against Avazbek Kholmirzaev, a taller, younger fighter who has finished nearly every opponent in his career.
