Myanmar will play host to one of the biggest nights in ONE Championship history on Friday, 3 November. That’s when ONE Championship storms back into the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon to hold ONE: HERO’S DREAM.

The main event features Myanmar’s favorite son, reigning ONE Middleweight World Champion Aung La “Burmese Python” N Sang, who is set to challenge four-time Muay Thai and Kickboxing heavyweight world champion Alain “The Panther” Ngalani in the promotion’s first ever Open Weight Super Bout.

Between that headlining epic, as well as a main card filled with local talents and top contenders, there will be fireworks going off in the “Golden Land” all night long. Here are just three reasons to get excited about ONE: HERO’S DREAM.

#1 An Epic Main Event Spectacle

When reigning ONE Middleweight World Champion Aung La “Burmese Python” N Sang takes the cage this Friday in front of his hometown crowd in Yangon, the roof is set to blow off the arena.

Like he has done so many times in the past, Aung La N Sang commands a roaring reception whenever he steps inside the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium, and the electric atmosphere it produces is unlike anything experienced in that arena before.

On Friday night, the “Burmese Python” takes on the toughest test of his career when he faces four-time Muay Thai and kickboxing heavyweight champion Alain “The Panther” Ngalani in a rare main event spectacle. Both competitors will throw down in ONE Championship’s first ever Open Weight Super Bout, which pits two elite athletes from different weight classes against each other.

If you have seen what Ngalani looks like, you will quickly realize how much of a challenge this bout will be for Aung La N Sang. “The Panther” is not just sheer size and strength, however. He is also as nimble as a jungle cat, swift and incredibly athletic. Simply put, he is a physical specimen, and one that should push Aung La N Sang to the very limit.

#2 See Myanmar Lethwei At Its Best

Also in action are some of Myanmar’s finest up-and-coming Lethwei artists.

Having competed several times in the ONE Championship cage already, Phoe Thaw and Saw Ba Oo will go head-to-head, and see who will stand out as Myanmar’s foremost talent. With the elite striking skills both competitors possess, their bout promises to be nothing short of spectacular.

Although both athletes are capable of taking the bout in any direction, whether on the feet or on the ground, no one expects the action to go to the mat. These are two high-level strikers who will look to showcase their wide range of Lethwei techniques to a global audience.

In addition to that, lethwei legend Ye Thway Ne will also see time inside the ONE cage against Saw Thar Nge. Ye Thway Ne may have only started his ONE career in May 2016, but he has spent many years as a lethwei practitioner, amassing an impressive professional lethwei record of 41-1-9. He is the 2015 and 2016 Gold Belt Champion, and is known for his sharp striking and relentless style.

Furthermore, other notable lethwei competitors Sit Mhan and Saw Darwait will make their debuts inside the cage. Myanmar has an amazing crop of talent just waiting for their chance to shine on the world’s biggest platform, and ONE: HERO’S DREAM will certainly not be lacking in local flavor.

#3 The World’s Finest Martial Artists In Action

ONE is constantly on the lookout for the next breakout star in Asia, and ONE: HERO’S DREAM provides a steady stream of talent looking to impress. China, the Philippines, Thailand, India, Indonesia, and even Australia will be well-represented in the cage this Friday night, with each country’s top warriors competing for martial arts supremacy.

Burn “Hitman” Soriano, who recently underwent a massive change by enlisting the aid of Alliance MMA coach George Castro, will showcase his newfound skills against China’s undefeated “Rock Man” Chen Lei. Meanwhile, fellow Chinese athlete “Supermom” Miao Jie takes on Australia’s Amira “The Wandera” Hafizovic in a high-level grappling showdown between BJJ champions.

Kicking off the action at ONE: HERO’S DREAM are Zhang Ze Hao and Bala Shetty, as well as Nita Dea and Jomary Torres. Torres, who scored an upset over highly-regarded Rika Ishige of Thailand in her most recent bout, will be looking for her second straight victory in the promotion.
