The early portion of the featherweight bout at the Stadium Istora was mostly dictated by Drai, who worked well against his opponent’s forward pressure and landed solid counter punches.
In particular, a well-timed right hand in reply to a knee strike was successful in sending the Dutchman reeling backwards.
Buoyed by the success, the 27-year-old French striker picked up the momentum. He changed gears to go on the offensive, as he connected with his punches and a late salvo of low kicks.
Drai maintained his work rate to start the second round. Clearly comfortable with his hands, he looked to land often, but his confidence led him right into Pinas’ trap.
As the Frenchman stepped in, the 26-year-old ARJ Traininggen product returned fire with a spinning back elbow, which found the mark perfectly and instantly dropped his rival to the canvas.
The Fairtex Gym representative was not able to answer the referee’s 10-count, giving the Dutch warrior his first ONE Super Series win.
The striker from Rotterdam, Netherlands improved his professional record to 26-9-1 and, in victory, showed a global audience exactly what he is capable of inside the ONE cage.
