Filipino heroes from Team Lakay will feature in two new bouts that have been confirmed for ONE: DAWN OF HEROES in Manila, Philippines on Friday, 2 August.

In the semifinals of the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix, Danny “The King” Kingad will face a new opponent at the Mall Of Asia Arena.

The 23-year-old was due to face Kairat “The Kazakh” Akhmetov, but the former ONE Flyweight World Champion was forced to withdraw with an injury. Instead, Australia’s Reece “Lightning” McLaren will compete in his place.

The winner of that match will move on to the tournament final at ONE: CENTURY on 13 October, where they will face whoever gets their hand raised when Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson faces Tatsumitsu “The Sweeper” Wada later on the main card.

McLaren was scheduled to meet Yuya “Little Piranha” Wakamatsu on 2 August, but the Japanese athlete will now face Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio.

The former ONE Flyweight World Champion from Baguio City will join his training partner, Kingad, on the card – as well as other teammates Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, Honorio “The Rock” Banario, and Edward “The Ferocious” Kelly – following his win against Kim Kyu Sung in May.

ONE: DAWN OF HEROES will be headlined by a pair of World Title bouts as Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen defends his featherweight belt against Koyomi “Moushigo” Matsushima, and Rodtang “Iron Man” Jitmuangnon challenges Jonathan “The General” Haggerty for the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title.
