The contest came alive in the first 10 seconds as Mikkios exploded forward with a leg kick, but Mohammed — a MuayFight Featherweight Champion — soon started firing back with his own low strikes.
As the 28-year-old Greek warrior continued to push forward and put weight on his front foot, he was forced to take hard shots for his trouble.
A wild punching exchange took the athletes into the clinch at the end of the first minute, and when they were separated by referee Atsushi Onari, the pace briefly slowed down.
It was not long before the bout burst into life once again, as Mikkios flew forward with a superman punch and entered the clinch.
However, he was caught with his left hand down and was floored by a right elbow.
Somehow, he rose to his feet to beat the count, but he was on wobbly legs, and the 22-year-old Malaysian smelled a stoppage.
Mohammed connected with a hard right hand, which staggered his opponent, and then finished the job with another straight right.
“Jordan Boy” wheeled away in celebration and dropped to his knees for an emotional celebration with his team. The finish was called with 2:20 gone in the opening period.
“I’m so happy to fight here. This is for you guys,” he told the fans. “[I thought he was finished] because I’ve got a good elbow, but I’ve got a good punch.”
With the stunning knockout victory, Mohammed improves his Muay Thai record to 31-2-1
