Timofey Nastyukhin's 3 Most Epic Victories

Timofey Nastyukhin ADUX2514

Timofey Nastyukhin is one of the most electrifying lightweight competitors in ONE Championship.

The 28-year-old Russian boasts a commendable professional record of 11-3, with six victories coming by way of submission, and another four by way of knockout. With all but one of his victories ending in a dynamic stoppage, he has rightfully earned a reputation as a finisher.

Nastyukhin is scheduled to clash with Singapore’s Amir Khan at ONE: QUEST FOR GOLD, which is set to take place at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar on Friday, 23 February.

As he prepares for battle, let’s relive three of Nastyukhin’s most impressive victories.

Knocking Out A Filipino Great

The Russian knockout artist made his promotional debut in December 2014 against future ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard “Landslide” Folayang at ONE: WARRIOR’S WAY, and created one of the biggest highlight reel moments of his career.

Nastyukhin showed no signs of pre-bout jitters, as he threw heavy hands at his Filipino adversary to start the contest. After some heavy back-and-forth striking, he dropped “Landslide” with a massive overhand right, and continued to push forward with relentless pressure.

He kept sizing up and measuring Folayang, and then connected with a incredible flying knee that knocked out the Filipino great. The official finish came 3:11 of round number one.

The Russian impressed in his debut, and he laid the groundwork for his reputation as an elite and devastating striker.

Nastyukhin was given a tough assignment in battle-tested martial arts veteran Rob Lisita at ONE: KINGDOM OF CHAMPIONS in May 2016.

The Aussie had been a perennial contender for much of his career, and he was looking to make a glorious comeback to form after nearly a year and a half away from the ONE cage. Evidently, Nastyukhin had other plans.

Immediately following a touch of the gloves, Lisita backed the Russian up to the fence. Nastyukhin responded with a straight right, and then followed it with a lightning fast left hook, which landed flush on his opponent’s jaw. The Australian crashed to the canvas, and the bout was stopped instantly.

The Russian made history, as he tied Mario Satya Wirawan for the fastest knockout in ONE Championship history at six seconds.

Nine months after suffering a devastating broken tibia in his contest with Kotetsu “No Face” Boku in November 2016, Nastyukhin returned to the ONE cage and showed no signs of rust.

In his August 2017 return at ONE: KINGS & CONQUERORS, he faced former lightweight world title challenger Koji “The Commander” Ando, and he picked up right where he left off pre-injury.

The Russian lightweight, known for his powerful fists and feet, put on an absolute show. Nastyukhin threw hard strikes throughout the contest, but Ando refused to go down. He lived up to his reputation, as he absorbed every single shot and kept coming forward.

While “The Commander” put his opponent in check with a stiff jab, and was measured in every aspect of his game plan, Nastyukhin was the polar opposite. The Russian consistently looked for a bout-ending strike with every shot he threw.

This would be the first and only time the Russian would experience a bout past the opening round. Actually, it went all three rounds. Nastyukhin scored a clear cut unanimous decision victory in an impressive show of fortitude, courage, and resurgence in the face of adversity.
