Zebaztian Kadestam To Face Tyler McGuire For Welterweight Gold

A new ONE Welterweight World Champion will be crowned when ONE Championship returns to Jakarta, Indonesia.

On Saturday, 17 November, Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam (10-4) will face Tyler McGuire (11-0) in a five-round main event bout at ONE: WARRIOR’S DREAM.

Both men will arrive at the Stadium Istora on the back of their outstanding performances at ONE: PURSUIT OF POWER, which earned each of them a shot at the vacant World Title.

Kadestam, a PXC Welterweight Champion, was terrific in his third-round TKO of Agilan “Alligator” Thani in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in July.

The Swedish bruiser showed off his powerful stand-up skills and defensive wrestling to emerge from a competitive battle as the dominant martial artist.

He continued to land hard, accurate strikes throughout the contest, and finished his opponent with punches at 1:56 of the final frame.

This will be Kadestam’s second shot at the belt after he earned an opportunity last year following his stunning third-round knockout against Luis “Sapo” Santos.

McGuire, an Extreme Challenge and Excite Fight Welterweight Champion, will enter this contest on the back of a successful promotional debut, in which he shut out Santos for 15 minutes.

The American was composed and technically superb as he stifled the offense of his experienced adversary, and put on a grappling clinic.

He was able to take a dominant position on several occasions to deliver ground and pound, all while steering clear of the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt’s submissions.

After three rounds of action, McGuire took home a well-earned unanimous decision.

In addition to this explosive welterweight clash, hometown hero Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol will make her return to action.
