Roel Rosauro

Status: Former ONE Athlete

Filipino National Muay Thai Silver Medalist Roel Rosauro grew up in Camotes, a small group of islands in the Philippines. He has been interested in the martial arts since he was a child, and learned some basic Muay Thai techniques from his uncle. He got the chance to train properly when he moved to Cebu City at the age of 20, and joined Yaw-Yan Ardigma Cebu.

Rosauro was hooked immediately. In addition to learning the techniques of the native Filipino kickboxing style of Yaw-Yan, he also began training to compete in the cage. He made his professional debut in a regional Philippine promotion in 2012, and stopped his first two opponents via TKO to showcase his powerful striking ability.

After an extended break due to personal obligations, he returned in 2016 for yet another knockout win. Now competing on the global stage with ONE Championship, Rosauro says he has realized a huge dream, and will know attempt to make a name for himself through his skills.
