About Bala Shetty
Status: Former ONE Athlete
A natural athlete ever since his school days, Bala Shetty is an eight-time Indian National Muay Thai Champion and placed on the podium at several international tournaments. In addition, he also competed extensively in karate, boxing, judo, and kickboxing, winning several championships.
After graduating from university as a black belt in both karate and judo, Shetty took on a full-time job to make ends meet, but soon struggled to fill the void left by martial arts in his life. Luckily, he was approached to become a personal trainer, which allowed him to rededicate his life to martial arts and establish Total Combat Fitness, a chain of highly-successful gyms in Mumbai.
One of the most decorated Indian strikers to ever transition to the cage, Shetty made his ONE Championship debut in 2014, and continuously spends countless hours rounding out his skills to make an impact in a stacked lightweight division.
