About Diogo Reis
Diogo Reis, widely known as “Baby Shark” to his legion of supporters, is a prominent Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt hailing from Manaus, Brazil.
Reis took up BJJ at 10 years old after his brother introduced him to the sport. Once he made it to yellow belt, he began training under the mentorship of Melqui Galvao. Afterward, he rapidly ascended the ranks, earning various accolades while donning the colored belts.
But when he became a BJJ black belt in 2020 – just seven months after earning his brown belt – that’s when his submission grappling career really took off.
The Brazilian captured a slew of BJJ accolades around the globe before winning two ADCC World Championships in the 66-kilogram division in 2022 and 2024, further cementing his status in the sport of submission grappling.
Reis’ journey in BJJ has been transformative, providing him with purpose and direction. His achievements have positioned him among the elite in the sport. Nothing has proved that more than when he signed with ONE Championship in 2024.
