About Hakim Hamech
Status: Former ONE Athlete
WBC Muay Thai Featherweight World Champion Hakim Hamech is one of France’s most accomplished strikers. He had his first exposure to martial arts with karate, which he started training in at the age of 12, as a way to focus his energy on something challenging.
Hamech switched to kickboxing as a teenager and was a French and European amateur champion in the discipline before he turned professional. He proved to be a prodigious talent, capturing the French National Kickboxing Championship just one month after he turned 18 years old. He has gone on to register an impressive record of over 40 wins, with the majority of them coming via stunning knockout, and even added a Muay Thai World Title to his list of accomplishments along the way.
In search of better training, Hamech moved to Lyon in 2013, and now trains under famed coach Kacem Nasser alongside several French superstars of the ring. He now takes his place among the world’s best strikers in ONE Super Series and hopes to capture the biggest World Title of his career on the global stage.
