About Miao Jie
Status: Former ONE Athlete
Born and raised in Shanghai, Miao Jie grew up in a strict family, and attended a sports academy, where she began training competitively in Judo in the fourth grade. Miao then began training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu in her early twenties, and has been entering competitions ever since she was a white belt.
Miao says that BJJ gives her a purpose in life, and she has virtually no other hobbies or interests, which has led her to medals in several prestigious tournaments. Now competing in the cage, she aims to make her son proud through her courage to compete, and plans to make the most of her opportunity on the global stage of ONE Championship.
She took a huge step towards her goals upon her arrival in ONE Championship, dispatching both Egypt’s top female wrestler, Mona Samir, and Australian grappler Amira Hafizovic via first-round armbar. In the process, she set the top two records for the fastest submissions in ONE women’s history.
