About Jin Tae Ho
Jin Tae Ho has dreams of becoming South Korea’s first ONE Welterweight MMA World Champion and a legend in his home country.
Born in Seoul, Jin was raised in a loving family. His father worked in a car repair shop, while his mother took care of him and his two older sisters. And because he was “very weak” in his early childhood, he started practicing aikido in the first grade to strengthen his body.
Inspired by Bruce Lee, Jin started looking for local MMA gyms so he could learn the icon’s awe-inspiring martial arts movements. The South Korean eventually earned black belts in aikido and taekwondo, but he has maintained a blue belt ranking in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu because he refuses to be promoted by anyone other than his old coach, who unfortunately passed away.
Armed with phenomenal skills and terrific strength, Jin enjoyed a successful MMA debut in October 2011, winning that bout via rear-naked choke in the first round.
Though he suffered some tough luck in the years to follow, the South Korean overcame his struggles and chalked up eight more victories to capture ONE Championship’s attention. He turned heads in his first promotional appearance when he submitted former ONE World Title challenger Agilan Thani in two and a half minutes with a stunning kimura in April 2022.
Now with more confidence, Jin has his eyes locked on the prize – the ONE Welterweight MMA World Title.
