About Mona Samir
Status: Former ONE Athlete
A native of Cairo, Egypt, top-ranked African Wrestling Champion Mona Samir is an elite wrestler with a background in the striking art of wushu. Rated as the number one wrestler on the continent, Samir trains out of Egypt’s premier gym, Egyptian Top Team, and hones her skills alongside several of the country’s best boxing and kickboxing champions.
Samir made her professional cage debut in 2015 in Jakarta, Indonesia, but came up short against Angela Lee, who went on to become the inaugural ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion. One of several Egyptian athletes in ONE Championship looking to raise her country’s profile on the international scene, Mona has actually competed more bouts outside of her native country than locally, proving her willingness to accept new challenges.
