About Oscar Yaqut
Status: Former ONE Athlete
Indonesia National Sanda Gold Medalist Oscar Yaqut grew up in the town of Kediri in East Java. He began training in boxing in 2006 when he was a teenager, and dreamed of being a professional combat sports athlete from the moment he first put on boxing gloves. When his boxing gym closed, he switched his focus to wushu, which became the backbone of his martial arts style.
Although he served as a member of the Indonesian military in the navy, he continued his wushu training, and it served him well once he completed his service. In 2018, he won a national championship in wushu sanda, spurring him to try and test his skills in the cage as a professional mixed martial artist. Self-described as a very simple person, he wants nothing more than to represent his country well in ONE Championship, and achieve his dreams of international glory.
