River Daz

Former WMC Australian Muay Thai Champion River Daz has brought his talents to ONE Championship with the intention of taking on the world’s best strikers. 

But for the Filipino-Australian from Melbourne, fighting wasn’t always on the cards. 

Daz grew up a keen tennis player, although his love of the Dragon Ball Z anime series and nights spent watching boxing with his father slowly stoked his fascination with martial arts. 

At age 17, he followed a friend into a Muay Thai gym and, within months, he was competing on the amateur circuit in Australia. 

His undeniable talent and natural athleticism saw him progress to the professional ranks at 21 and embark on a remarkable unbeaten run of more than 30 fights in his home country and as far as Europe. 

As he surged up the ranks, Daz also campaigned in boxing to keep busy and took on some of the best fighters on the Australian domestic circuit. 

ONE Championship came calling in 2023 for the representative of the famed Fairtex Training Center in Pattaya, Thailand. After a close defeat in his promotional debut, Daz scored his maiden victory under the ONE banner when he stepped in on 48 hours’ notice and triumphed over Nonthakit Tor Morsri after an epic three-round battle. 

At ONE Friday Fights 46: Tawanchai vs. Superbon on December 22, the Aussie is set for the biggest test of his career when he takes on Thai legend Seksan Or Kwanmuang at the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
