Former ONE Light Heavyweight World Champion Roger Gracie is a ten-time BJJ World Champion and a fourth-degree BJJ black belt. One of the most incredibly successful and accomplished BJJ competitors in history, Roger Gracie hails from Rio De Janeiro, and is the grandson of Carlos Gracie, whose brother Helio Gracie is credited as being the creator of BJJ.

He has not been submitted in competition since he was a blue belt, and won the IBJJF World Jiu-Jitsu Championships as a black belt an astonishing 10 times, with three of those in Open Weight competition.

He made his professional mixed martial arts debut in 2006 and has competed in premiere promotions around the world, scoring submission wins over some big names before retiring from competition. In 2014, he decided to make a comeback with ONE Championship, and showcased his developing striking skills to TKO James McSweeney in the third round.nnIn 2016, Roger became the first Gracie of his generation to win a mixed martial arts world championship, claiming the inaugural ONE Light Heavyweight World Championship by submitting the previously-undefeated Michal Pasternak in the first round.
