Roman “Boom” Alvarez

Trench Warz Featherweight Champion Roman Alvarez was born and raised in Guam, and in fact still lives in his childhood home. At a young age, Alvarez began going to the gym with his father, who worked as a corrections officer, to learn self-defense, mostly focusing on wrestling and no-gi grappling.

He subsequently fell in love with combat sports and made his professional mixed martial arts debut in short order. Alvarez has since put together an excellent competing in Guam, Saipan, and the Philippines, and has won titles, both in the cage and on the grappling mats.

Alvarez currently trains at Spike 22 academy under celebrated veteran coach Melchor Manibusan, and sharpens his skills every day alongside some of the top mixed martial artists in North America. Now that he has a chance to make his mark on the world with ONE Championship, he will do whatever it takes to realize his dreams of international glory.
