About Sor Sey
Status: Former ONE Athlete
After over 145 wins in the ancient striking art of Kun Khmer, Sor Sey sought a greater challenge. He soon set his sights on the cage, and decided to add other disciplines into his arsenal under the tutelage of famed coach Chan Reach and BJJ black belt Fernando Salvador.
Driven by the desire to forge a better future for his family, Sor Sey wants nothing more than to succeed, and provide his children with the education and opportunities he never had. After all, he was born to a family of farmers, and grew up playing with horses and buffaloes in the Kandal Province, a mostly agricultural area that surrounds the Cambodian capital.
Smaller than other children, he started getting picked on, leading him to take up traditional Cambodian wrestling to boost his confidence. He later switched to Kun Khmer when he realized it was a way to make money to help support his family, and after a long and successful career over more than 200 bouts, he now proudly represents Cambodia against the world’s best martial artists in ONE Championship.
