Myanmar Lethwei Gold Belt Champion Tha Pyay Nyo hails from the Myan Tha Lay village of Pha Hunn, in Myanmar’s Kyin State. He began training in lethwei at the age of 16 because he wanted to be able to protect himself, and has not stopped ever since, practicing six hours a day without fail.
His hard work and dedication paid off, as he reached the pinnacle of lethwei by winning the famed Gold Belt. A seasoned veteran, Tha Pyay Nyo has knocked out almost all of the opponents he has faced in the ring across over 50 bouts.
Seeking a new challenge, Tha Pyay Nyo made his professional cage debut at ONE: KINGDOM OF WARRIORS in 2015, and knocked out two opponents in the first round to win the ONE Myanmar Featherweight Tournament. He has since registered two more knockout wins to remain undefeated in the ONE Championship cage, including a blistering 16-second one-punch KO in June 2017.
