About Vaughn Donayre
Status: Former ONE Athlete
Pan Asian BJJ Champion Vaughn Donayre grew up around the martial arts – his father is a karate black belt, and his grandfather was a black belt in judo. Following in their footsteps, he began training in boxing, then later added Brazilian jiu-jitsu to his training for mixed martial arts.
After making his professional cage debut in 2011, Vaughn Donayre established himself as one of the top lightweights in the Philippines’ domestic scene by winning his first six bout, with the Cebu native finishing five of those opponents.
Now a resident of Dubai training out of FitRepublik Dubai, Donayre is a submission specialist who won gold at the Pan Asian Championship in 2010. However, he is also very comfortable with his striking, as evidenced by half of his wins coming by way of knockout.
