About Ye Yint Aung
Status: Former ONE Athlete
2014 Lethwei Regional Gold Belt Champion Ye Yint Aung grew up in the Thayet Chaung township in central Myanmar and became interested in professional martial arts while working as a boxer in Thailand. After returning to Yangon to work in the fishing industry, he missed the thrill of combat sports, and got in touch with a local coach.
He then began to train in boxing, before transitioning to the national striking art of lethwei. Ye Yint Aung would eventually go on to become a full-time professional lethwei artist, and quickly ran up an impressive record, winning the 2014 Regional Gold Belt in the process.
Once ONE Championship started making waves in Myanmar, he began preparing for his mixed martial arts debut, and worked hard on utilizing his lethwei skills to the fullest in order to achieve success in the cage.
