3 Fights That Could Steal The Show At The Blockbuster ONE 170
On January 24 in Asia primetime, the world’s largest martial arts organization will land at the sold-out Impact Arena in Bangkok for a massive fight card topped by a trio of World Title contests.
Fans around the globe are anxiously awaiting those three headlining bouts at ONE 170, but the rest of the lineup is loaded with intriguing matchups designed to produce white-knuckle action.
With that in mind, we dive into three must-watch fights that could ultimately steal the show in Thailand this Friday.
#1 Johan Ghazali Vs. Johan Estupinan
Young phenoms Johan “Jojo” Ghazali and Johan “Panda Kick” Estupinan will throw down in a flyweight Muay Thai scrap that promises fireworks for as long as it lasts.
Ghazali debuted in ONE at just 16 years old, reeling off four straight wins at ONE Friday Fights to earn a six-figure contract and a coveted spot on ONE’s global roster.
Since then, the Malaysian-American knockout artist has continued to prove he belongs among the best of the best and has added two more finishes to his resume while competing in U.S. primetime.
Standing across from him will be the ultra-aggressive, high-flying Estupinan. The undefeated 22-year-old Colombian enjoyed a breakout year in 2024, going 4-0 in ONE while gaining legions of fans with his wildly entertaining approach to combat.
Simply put, fans will be on the edge of their seats in this explosive battle of the Johans between two future megastars.
#2 Seksan vs. Soe Lin Oo
In 142-pound catchweight Muay Thai action, decorated fan favorites Seksan “The Man Who Yields To No One” Or Kwanmuang and “Man of Steel” Soe Lin Oo will engage in an all-out war.
A former four-time Muay Thai World Champion renowned for his fearless style and never-say-die attitude, Seksan will enter the contest following a thrilling knockout of fellow legend Liam “Hitman” Harrison last September.
The Thai’s crowd-pleasing style will be tested against accomplished lethwei star Soe Lin Oo.
The 33-year-old has lost just four times over the course of his incredible career. And just like Seksan, he refuses to take a step back when he fights.
Given each man’s propensity for ferociously paced battles that leave fans out of breath, this matchup has all the makings of an instant classic.
#3 Maurice Abevi Vs. Samat Mamedov
Two of MMA’s most talented rising stars will lock horns in a lightweight battle, as well-rounded Swiss prodigy Maurice Abevi will face undefeated Kazakh destroyer Samat Mamedov.
Abevi tore through the European circuit before making his much-anticipated ONE debut back in 2023.
While he would suffer a defeat in his first fight on the global stage, he has since rattled off a pair of impressively dominant victories to establish himself as a legitimate contender and remind fans of his immense potential.
For his part, Mamedov’s hype train is coming to ONE with plenty of momentum.
The 26-year-old debutant boasts a pristine 10-0 career record with nine first-round finishes and now looks poised to take ONE’s talent-laden lightweight MMA division by storm.
With both fighters hungry to cement themselves and the next big thing, fans can look forward to a barnburner when Abevi and Mamedov share the Circle.
