3 Keys To Victory For Petchmorakot At ONE: MASTERS OF DESTINY
Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy is certain that he can shock the world again at ONE: MASTERS OF DESTINY.
Though the two-division Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion had his win against Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan at ONE: ENTER THE DRAGON overturned to a no contest, no one could deny he caused the Italian a world of problems.
Petchmorakot fell foul of the rules last time out — forgivable in just his second-ever kickboxing contest — but he has worked hard since to hone his Muay Thai skills to fit a new format and shock the world all over again in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this Friday, 12 July.
If he can employ these tactics, he has a good chance of getting the win he craves over one of the sport’s true greats to book his place in the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix semifinals.

“The Doctor” is known for his fast, accurate boxing combinations. These have become even more prominent in The Home Of Martial Arts as he has tweaked his approach to be more aggressive and unleash them more often.
This has made for thrilling viewing for the fans, but it has opened up small windows of opportunity for his rivals to capitalize.
Petchmorakot landed some thudding left hands on the jaw of the two-time K-1 World MAX Champion in their first encounter, and if he is disciplined with his output, he could do the same again.
He is slightly taller and has a long reach, so if he can step in with a stiff jab and let his left cross go straight down the pipe, he could beat Petrosyan to the punch and catch him moving forward to double the impact.
#2 Discipline At Close-Quarters
Martial arts helped pave Muay Thai World Champion Petchmorakot a way out of poverty.

The Petchyindee Academy representative’s clinching in their first battle got him into hot water, so he has worked hard not to fall foul of the rules this time.
This does not mean he should throw this part of his game out of the window altogether. As long as the Thai is offensive and does not hold on to defend, he is in the clear to use his knees at close range again.
He likes to thrust with his left knee to the body, and he could switch things up by putting a straight left behind it instead of looking to tangle with his opponent.
A single, well-placed strike to the body could be devastating, and the constant threat may disrupt Petrosyan’s rhythm like in their first contest.
#3 Fire The Left Kick
Having won prestigious Lumpinee Muay Thai World Titles in two divisions, Petchmorakot now has his sights set on claiming ONE Super Series gold! But first, he'll need to get through Giorgio Petrosyan this Friday!🗓: Kuala Lumpur | 12 July | 6PM | ONE: MASTERS OF DESTINY🎟: Get your tickets at 👉 http://bit.ly/onemastersofdestiny19📺: Check local listings for global TV broadcast📱: Watch on the ONE Super App 👉 http://bit.ly/ONESuperApp 👨💻: Prelims LIVE on Facebook | Prelims + 2 Main-Card bouts LIVE on Twitter

Petchmorakot’s Muay Thai training has given him a fierce left roundhouse, but he did not use it to its full effect back in May.
Petrosyan often slips to his right off his famed jab-cross, and may also load his weight heavily on his front foot when he throws his powerful right hook.
That is not usually a problem against orthodox opponents, but against a fellow southpaw like the WMC Muay Thai World Champion, his lead leg is more vulnerable to a powerful kick.
If the 25-year-old from Bangkok can accumulate damage on the right thigh, then he could even the odds when it comes to footwork – where his adversary holds a clear advantage – and limit “The Doctor’s” ability to move around the ring.
