5 Fast Facts About Heavyweight Star Kirill Grishenko
Kirill Grishenko will return to the Circle in a clash of unbeaten heavyweights at ONE: NEXTGEN.
The Belarusian mixed martial artist is set to square off against Canada’s Dustin Joynson on Friday, 29 October, and a win would solidify his status as one of the hottest rising stars in the division.
Before Grishenko gets back to business against Joynson, here are five fast facts about the Minsk-based colossus.
#1 He Is Yet To Taste Defeat
Grishenko only made his professional mixed martial arts debut 12 months ago, but he has already racked up an impressive 4-0 record.
Following three victories in his native Belarus, the 30-year-old signed to compete in The Home of Martial Arts, where he faced his toughest test yet.
The Minsk resident met fellow unbeaten star “Reug Reug” Oumar Kane at “ONE on TNT IV” in April, and he beat the Senegalese wrestling sensation to announce himself to the global fan base.
#2 He Is A Finisher
Grishenko has not just defeated his opponents, he has demolished them.
His first three bouts ended in the opening frame – two by knockout and one by submission.
And although his ONE Championship debut took a little longer, he secured a TKO finish at the end of the second round when “Reug Reug” was unable to continue.

#3 He Was An Elite Wrestler
The Belarusian standout was already a well-versed competitor before he made the switch to mixed martial arts.
He started Greco-Roman wrestling in the third grade and went on to achieve many accolades in the sport, including two European Championships.
This has set him up with a solid base for the all-encompassing sport. Though, as he showed in his last outing, he has also taken well to the striking game, which has only made him an even more dangerous threat.
#4 He Coached At A High Level
Grishenko’s wrestling success led him to a coaching spot at one of the most prestigious training facilities in his home country.
The heavyweight star coached up-and-coming athletes at the National Olympic Training Center in Minsk.
#5 He Is A Quiet Family Man
There have been plenty of battles throughout Grishenko’s life, both on the mats and in the Circle. But outside of competition, he prefers a quieter life.
The 193-centimeter athlete’s hobbies are reading, drawing, and spending time with his daughter.
