5 Reasons To Watch ONE Friday Fights 7 On March 3
ONE Friday Fights 7 looks set to feature another explosive lineup of combat at the famous Lumpinee Boxing Stadium this Friday, March 3.
The card will include nine Muay Thai contests in the sport’s spiritual home of Bangkok, Thailand, where they’ll be joined by some rising stars in the mixed martial arts ranks.
These weekly events have consistently delivered fireworks since their inception in January, and this one should not be any different.
Here are five reasons to watch the action live in Asia primetime this Friday.
#1 An Enticing Main Event
Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon and Theeradet Chor Hapayak will face off in the headlining slot, and both men are eager to impress in their ONE debuts.
Already a Channel 7 Stadium Champion, 19-year-old Rambolek knows a win in this 143-pound catchweight Muay Thai battle would be the perfect way to kick-start his ONE tenure.
However, 24-year-old Theeradet has more experience in three-round fights, and that could weigh in his favor as he takes aim at his idol and longtime ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion, Nong-O Hama.
Spurred on by the main event spotlight, these strikers are promising to bring the heat from the opening bell in their showdown atop the bill.
#2 Muay Thai World Champions In Action
ONE Friday Fights showcases both established names and burgeoning stars of Muay Thai – and this week, two seasoned World Champions will compete in Bangkok.
Despite being just 18 years old, Rittidet Kiatsongrit is already a Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai World Champion, and he’ll face Ritnaka Or Bor Jor Nakhonpanom in a 118-pound catchweight affair.
Also still a young man at the age of 20, Kongchai Chanaidonmueang is another Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai World Champion. He’ll take on Chalamkhao PK Saenchai in a high-stakes strawweight clash.
#3 The Return Of Chalamkhao
Fans of ONE’s weekly offering at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium will recognize the aforementioned Chalamkhao from his ONE Friday Fights 2 encounter against Pettong Kiatsongrit.
The PK Saenchai Muaythaigym representative’s skills were imperious in his first showing, and another victory over an elite opponent like Kongchai could give him a serious boost up the strawweight ranks.
Chalamkhao unleashed his punches, kicks, and elbows en route to his debut win, and with lots of momentum for this quick turnaround, the 20-year-old should be firing on all cylinders in his sophomore outing in The Home of Martial Arts.
#4 Road To ONE: Thailand Winner Makes His Debut
The Road to ONE events have been unearthing rising stars across the planet, but homegrown talent Yodphupa Tor Yotha will get the chance to compete in front of his compatriots in his big-stage debut this Friday.
However, the up-and-coming Thai will have his hands full against unbeaten Russian Ilyas Musaev, who owns a 9-0 record and demolished Panrit Lukjaomaesaiwaree with a stunning left hook in his debut at ONE Friday Fights 3.
Both men have serious finishing power, so fans can expect a gripping battle when they come to blows in Bangkok.
#5 Three Intriguing MMA Fights
While “the art of eight limbs” is taking center stage with nine bouts on the card, a trio of exciting MMA fights will bring a different flavor to the proceedings.
There’s an all-American heavyweight battle between Lawrence Phillips and Ben Parker, a middleweight clash between Iran’s Arash Mardani and Russia’s Mamurjon Khamidov, and an atomweight scrap that pits Korea’s So Yul Kim against France’s Souris Manfredi.
It’s a chance for each of these rising stars to make statements in their debuts and aim to stick around in ONE’s MMA ranks.
