5 Reasons Why You Can’t Miss ONE: MASTERS OF FATE

Joshua Pacio Poses With the ONE Strawweight World Title in Jakarta, Indonesia

ONE Championship is kicking off the month in style.

This coming Friday, 8 November, the world’s largest martial arts organization will bring ONE: MASTERS OF FATE to the Mall Of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines.

The 14-bout spectacle will feature an assortment of beloved Filipino heroes, the return of several World Champions, and the debuts of some of the most exciting superstars on the planet. Also, the card will be topped by an explosive ONE World Title bout.

Here are five big reasons why you must watch ONE: MASTERS OF FATE on Friday.

#1 A Strawweight World Title Bout For The Ages

ONE Strawweight World Champion Joshua “The Passion” Pacio will attempt to make his first successful title defense in the main event of the evening. But again, he will face tough opposition.

After dropping the belt to Yosuke “The Ninja” Saruta in January via split decision, he reclaimed the gold three months later with a sensational fourth-round knockout.

To successfully defend the strawweight crown and begin his second reign on a better note, Pacio must defeat his fired-up countryman, Rene “The Challenger” Catalan.

Catalan, a multiple-time Wushu World Champion who is riding a six-bout win streak, desperately wants to cap his legacy with the ONE Strawweight World Championship.

Also, he views this as a prime opportunity to get some redemption from Team Lakay, who he has had an unspoken rivalry with dating back to his days on the Philippine national wushu team.

Between the speed, precision, and power of both athletes, as well as the drama, fans should be highly entertained from beginning to end.

#2 Filipino Excellence All Throughout The Card

In addition to the main event, the rest of ONE: MASTERS OF FATE is packed with a plethora of Filipino stars.

First up is the World Title challenger’s younger brother, Robin “The Ilonggo” Catalan, who takes on Cuban wrestling sensation Gustavo “El Gladiador” Balart in a strawweight contest.

Other local heroes will follow, including former ONE Flyweight World Champion Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio. The Team Lakay representative squares off against his previous conqueror, Toni “Dynamite” Tauru, and will look to continue living up to his “Rematch King” moniker.

Also, former ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard “Landslide” Folayang competes against Mongolia’s Amarsanaa “Spear” Tsogookhuu in a high-stakes co-main event.

The nation will be well-represented by outstanding talents who are at the top of their game, and the pride will be worn on the faces of a receptive home audience.

#3 Stamp Fairtex’s Quest For More Gold Rages On

Stamp Fairtex is set to continue her quest towards becoming a historic three-sport ONE World Champion.

The reigning ONE Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion will try to move her mixed martial arts record to 3-0 with an emphatic performance in the Philippine capital.

Standing in her way is Bi “Killer Bee” Nguyen, someone who has much more experience in both training and competing in mixed martial arts.

Like Stamp, the Vietnamese-American comes from a Muay Thai background. However, she has spent years developing her grappling and plans to exploit her rival’s perceived weaknesses.

It is a compelling match-up with heavy implications in the women’s atomweight division, and keen-eyed divisional foes will be watching this incredible match-up very closely.

#4 World Champions Grace ONE Super Series

Muay Thai excellence will be on display as four exhilarating ONE Super Series bouts will feature on the show.

Kicking off the ONE Super Series action in Manila will be two-time Muay Thai World Champion Tukkatatong Petpayathai, who collides with Shoot Boxing Lightweight World Champion Hiroaki “Kaibutsukun” Suzuki in a bantamweight clash.

Also, Top King Muay Thai World Champion Han Zi Hao returns against three-time Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion “Left Savage” Kongsak PK.Saenchaimuaythaigym. A victory could move the winner closer to World Title contention.

Finally, capping off the ONE Super Series portion of the show are two high-powered debuts. Seven-time Muay Thai World Champion “The Million Dollar Baby” Sangmanee Sathian MuayThai goes up against two-time Muay Thai World Champion Azize “The Magician” Hlali in a bantamweight tilt.

#5 The Thrilling Return Of Li Kai Wen

The main card will get off to an electric start, as “The Underdog” Li Kai Wen is scheduled to make his long-awaited return to the Circle.

The Tianjin Top Team standout is riding a three-bout win streak, which includes a 43-second submission win, a record-setting 10-second knockout victory, and one of the best matches of 2018.

Now dropping to the bantamweight division, Li could shoot up the ranks with another stellar performance. To do that, he will need to beat Indonesia’s Paul “The Great King” Lumihi, who wants to make a strong statement and dash the Chinese athlete’s World Title hopes.

If “The Underdog” can pass this test, he will prove that he is undoubtedly ready for the next level.
