A Look At ONE Heavyweight World Champion Arjan Bhullar’s Epic Indian Press Tour
ONE Heavyweight World Champion Arjan Bhullar recently reconnected with his roots, going on a whirlwind six-day tour that had him visiting India’s biggest media outlets and rubbing shoulders with some of the nation’s most influential athletes and musicians.
The trip, which started in Mumbai City and concluded in Mohali, served as a tour to promote “Singh’s” long-anticipated World Title unification bout against interim heavyweight king Anatoly Malykhin.
Making The Media Rounds
Bhullar kicked off the festivities with a visit to NBA India Studios on April 24, where he flexed his basketball knowledge during a guest appearance on the NBA India Weekly Show.
Born and raised in Canada, he was happy to reminisce about his beloved Toronto Raptors’ magical 2019 NBA Championship run.
The Olympic wrestler continued his media tour the next day, stopping by Star Sports – India’s premier sports broadcaster – as well as ESPN India for a pair of interviews.
Linking Up With The Punjab Kings
Next, Bhullar traveled to Punjab to meet up with the IPL’s Punjab Kings at the Minerva Football Academy and Cricket Club, where he chatted with some of India’s finest cricket players. And during the visit, he was mobbed by the fans.
Most notably, the reigning ONE Heavyweight World Champion linked up with Punjab Kings striker Shikhar Dhawan – one of the country’s most popular athletes – for a quick meeting and jersey exchange. “Singh” also draped his belt over the cricket superstar’s shoulder.
A day later, Bhullar attended the team’s match against the Lucknow Super Giants and cheered his friends on.
Aside from the Punjab Kings, the heavyweight superstar also connected with Indian music icon Mika Singh.
Bhullar wrote about the meet-up on Instagram:
“Big love coming from King @mikasingh and the rest of the boys here in Punjab! Surrounded by the best in music and cricket. Can’t wait to make them all proud in the next fight.”
Honored By The WPO
Finally, Bhullar closed out his busy week with the World Punjabi Organization (WPO).
There, he was honored with an award as a part of the annual Baisakhi celebration for being a good global representative of Punjabi culture.
Now with that unforgettable press tour behind him and inspired by the outpouring of support from his Indian fans, Bhullar will buckle down for an intense fight camp as he prepares for a massive World Title showdown with Malykhin in the near future.
