‘It Must Be Destiny’ – Sinsamut Klinmee’s Unlikely, Inspiring Journey With His Wife Lauren

Sinsamut Klinmee Victor Teixeira ONE Friday Fights 24 47

The saying goes, “Behind every great man is a great woman,” and Sinsamut “Aquaman” Klinmee wholeheartedly agrees.

The Thai knockout artist – who rematches “Lethal” Liam Nolan at ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade on Prime Video in U.S. primetime on November 3 – knows his wife, Lauren, has been a major factor in his Muay Thai success.

Sinsamut has experienced some lows in life during their seven-year relationship, but his English bride has always been by his side to support him through those tough times.

Now a fan favorite in the world’s largest martial arts organization, “Aquaman” is thriving and attributes much of it to Lauren’s constant motivation.

He spoke to onefc.com ahead of his return at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand:

“When she came into my life. I feel like I received a massive amount of inspiration. Even though I already had a family to encourage me, when I received encouragement from her, I felt more motivated than before.

“My wife always helps me regain my senses. When I was severely depressed, I didn’t even dare to leave the house. But my wife told me, ‘It’s ok. You can try again.’ And I tried again and again.”

Their bond goes much deeper than any surface layer, which Sinsamut found out when they first met. He was immediately interested in Lauren, but he didn’t speak English, and she didn’t speak Thai.

However, that didn’t stop their relationship from blooming – something the Pattaya native puts down to a connection that operates on a much different plane.

He explained:

“At first, I couldn’t communicate in English. So, I kept spamming stickers in our chats or used easy words like, ‘Yes, ok.’ Now my English skills have improved, but I’m not yet an expert.

“Although we don’t speak the same language, we can communicate well. My wife doesn’t speak Thai at all. I don’t know why we have come this far. It must be destiny. Sometimes, we say nothing, but we can understand the needs of the other.”

More than anything, Sinsamut thinks their connection comes from Lauren’s kind soul, which has seen her stand by him no matter what obstacles were in the way.

Knowing they were a perfect match, the pair married in February 2023, and “Aquaman” is happy to have a partner for life:

“She stayed by my side when I had nothing. We went through the best and worst times of my life together.

“On the day I finally had money and success in my career, I decided to propose to her because she always stayed with me in difficult times. So, how could I ever leave her?”

Sinsamut Can’t Wait To Become A Father In 2024

Now happily married and in a much more secure position career-wise, Sinsamut is thrilled to be welcoming a baby boy with Lauren in March 2024.

The 27-year-old’s biggest motivation has always been his wife, but with their first child on the way, he’s even more determined to reach the next level in Muay Thai and provide for his offspring.

In the process, he wants to show his son that he can achieve his own big dreams in the future:

“I am very excited to have a child. I am over the moon. My son will be my encouragement and motivation. He will motivate me to try 200 or 300 times harder. I want my child to see how great his father is. So, I want to be successful in life.

“This is going to be a great story of mine. I envision myself becoming the World Champion and having my child next to me in the ring. I really want it to happen.”
