ONE: MASTERS OF FATE’s Card Is Bursting With World Champions

ONE Strawweight World Champion Joshua "The Passion" Pacio

ONE: MASTERS OF FATE is stacked with an incredible amount of top-tier martial arts talent to give Filipino fans a huge send-off to 2019.

There are a plethora of World Champions at Manila’s final event of the year, including some elite local talent from the Philippines, as well as top athletes from around the globe who have reached the highest level of mixed martial arts, Muay Thai, wushu, and shootboxing.

Here are all 16 competitors from the highest echelons of their sports who are set for action inside the Mall Of Asia Arena on Friday, 8 November.

The ONE Strawweight World Championship Main Event

Two decorated national heroes will compete in front of their compatriots in the main event match-up as they look to add to their glittering résumés with another World Title triumph.

Joshua “The Passion” Pacio became a two-time ONE Strawweight World Championship in his last bout, and he will aim to defend the belt for the first time – and become only the second man to retain it.

His opponent, Rene “The Challenger” Catalan, will take aim at the gold for the first time in his mixed martial arts career, and add to the pair of Wushu World Titles he won in 2003 and 2005.

First-Class Mixed Martial Artists

There are four more mixed martial arts World Champions on the bill, three of whom earned their accolades in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

The first is former ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, who has claimed the prestigious belt twice in his career. He will face Mongolia’s Amarsanaa “Spear” Tsogookhuu in the co-main event.

His Team Lakay stablemate, Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio, also climbed to the top of The Home Of Martial Arts to win the ONE Flyweight World Title in 2018. He will face an old foe from Finland in a rematch – CWFC Bantamweight World Champion, Toni “Dynamite” Tauru.

Finally, Japan’s Yoshitaka “Nobita” Naito is the longest-reigning ONE Strawweight World Champion in history, and he will resume his climb back to the top against Pongsiri “The Smiling Assassin” Mitsatit.

The Best Athletes From “The Art Of Eight Limbs”

There are four Muay Thai bouts on the card at the Mall Of Asia Arena, and every one is a World Champion vs. World Champion tilt – proof that ONE Super Series is the place to be for the best athletes in the striking arts.

Seven-time Muay Thai World Champion “The Million Dollar Baby” Sangmanee Sathian MuayThai will face two-time Muay Thai World Champion, Azize “The Magician” Hlali.

They will be joined on the main card by WBC and IPCC Muay Thai World Champion Alma Juniku, who will welcome ISKA Muay Thai World Champion Anne “Ninja” Line Hogstad to the Circle.

Top King Muay Thai World Champion Han Zi Hao will help to bring prestige to the prelims in a potential thriller with “Left Savage” Kongsak PK.Saenchaimuaythaigym, who is a three-time Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion.

Finally, two-time Muay Thai World Champion Tukkatatong Petpayathai will face a tough test against Shoot Boxing Lightweight World Champion Hiroaki “Kaibutsukun” Suzuki.

There are also two Muay Thai World Champions in action in mixed martial arts contests.

Stamp Fairtex holds the ONE Atomweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Titles, and she will meet Bi “Killer Bee” Nguyen as part of her quest to grab a third belt.

Also, IFMA Muay Thai World Champion Robin “The Ilonggo” Catalan is set to square off against Greco-Roman wrestling Olympian, Gustavo “El Gladiador” Balart.
