ONE: WARRIORS OF LIGHT Is Stacked With 15 World Champions

When ONE Championship returns to Bangkok, Thailand for ONE: WARRIORS OF LIGHT this Friday, 10 May, the bout card will be stacked with some of the world’s best martial artists.

There will be an incredible 15 World Champions featured across the 12 match-ups at the Impact Arena from kickboxing, Muay Thai, and mixed martial arts.

As always, the world’s largest martial arts organization has put an event together that cannot be matched in terms of the decorated athletes that will be in action.

Before the bell sounds and the bouts begin, take a look at how these superstars have achieved great things in their careers so far.

Nong-O Gaiyanghadao

Nong-O Gaiyanghadao is one of the most revered Muay Thai competitors of all time because of his amazing ability in the ring, his phenomenal 258-54-1 record, and his incredible list of accolades.

Before he entered The Home Of Martial Arts, the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion was a multiple-time Lumpinee and Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai World Champion.

If he can win in Bangkok, the Evolve representative will become the first-ever ONE Super Series competitor to defend their belt. 

Hiroaki Suzuki

Hiroaki “Kaibutsukun” Suzuki is a Shoot Boxing Lightweight World Champion who has had a tremendous amount of success in the hybrid stand-up discipline and demonstrated his ability to transfer those skills well in ONE Super Series.

The Japanese star has showcased his powerful striking skills in back-to-back victories in The Home Of Martial Arts, and they have rocketed him to the top of his division.

He will face Nong-O Gaiyanghadao for the Thai hero’s ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title.

Petchdam Petchyindee Academy

“The Baby Shark” Petchdam Petchyindee Academy has been electrifying en route to a 3-0 slate in ONE Super Series.

His success should come as no surprise to fans of “the art of eight limbs,” however, as the 20-year-old is a WBC and Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion.

His three straight knockout wins have earned him a shot at the inaugural ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title.

Elias Mahmoudi

French-Algerian phenom Elias “The Sniper” Mahmoudi was destined for greatness after he began his journey in combat sports at an early age thanks to his family-run Mahmoudi Gym.

He was a standout as a junior competitor and won the IFMA World Championships aged 15. He then went on to claim the WMF, WPMF, and MTGP Muay Thai World Titles.

Mahmoudi will meet Petchdam in a match the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title this Friday.

Shoko Sato

Experienced Japanese star Shoko Sato debuts on the global stage for martial arts in his 52nd professional mixed martial arts contest.

The Shooto Bantamweight World Champion takes on Mark Fairtex Abelardo in “The Land Of The Smiles,” and he will aim to jump straight into contention in ONE by grabbing his 32nd career win.

Rodtang Jitmuangnon

Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon arrived in the world’s largest martial arts organization as a two-time Omnoi Stadium Muay Thai World Champion with a reputation for thrilling bouts.

The Thai superstar has lived up to his billing by racing to three wins in three outings in ONE to date – all in electrifying fashion.

His goal now is to punch his ticket to World Title contention with a fourth victory when he meets Sok Thy at the Impact Arena.

Sok Thy

Cambodian Top Team’s Sok Thy is an exciting proponent of his nation’s famed combat sport, and he has showcased it internationally as a Kun Khmer World Champion in the ONE ranks.

He will pit his style against Rodtang’s Muay Thai arsenal on 10 May in what should be an unmissable flyweight clash.

Robin Catalan

Robin “The Ilonggo” Catalan is an IFMA Muay Thai World Champion who has also shown a tremendous aptitude for the grappling game with some slick wrestling and submission skills.

The Filipino will take on Pongsiri “The Smiling Assassin” Mitsatit in a strawweight mixed martial arts contest this Friday.

Zhang Chenglong

“Muay Thai Boy” Zhang Chenglong is one of “the art of eight limbs'” top competitors from China, and he proved it with his capture of the Top King Muay Thai World Championship.

The 21-year-old will look to build on his debut success at ONE: CALL TO GREATNESS and notch his 48th win in the ring in a bantamweight kickboxing match against Panicos Yusuf at the Impact Arena.

Panicos Yusuf

British-based Cypriot Panicos Yusuf has honed his striking skills through training and competing around the world, and he has earned his reward of two Muay Thai World Titles.

Following impressive displays of his slick striking repertoire in three ONE Championship bouts so far, Yusuf will face Zhang in an intriguing battle in Bangkok.

Kazuki Tokudome

Japan’s Kazuki Tokudome won gold in his homeland when he was crowned Pancrase Lightweight World Champion, and he has consistently faced elite-level opposition throughout his career.

The Paraestra Hachioji athlete will try to make his mark in The Home Of Martial Arts against Australian veteran Adrian “The Hunter” Pang when he travels to Thailand.

Singtongnoi Por Telakun

Singtongnoi Por Telakun’s has claimed Lumpinee Stadium and WMC Muay Thai World Titles as part of an illustrious career that has seen him take part in more than 300 professional contests.

His incredible return to competition after a battle with cancer began with back-to-back ONE Super Series wins, and he will go for his third straight in his homeland on 10 May. 

Savvas Michael

Savvas “The Baby Face Killer” Michael hails from Cyprus, but trains in Thailand at the famous Petchyindee Academy– no doubt because of his elite Muay Thai Skills.

The WMC Muay Thai World Champion is among good company in the Bangkok gym, and will compete close to his adopted home against Singtongnoi at ONE: WARRIORS OF LIGHT.

Superlek Kiatmoo9

Superlek “The Kicking Machine” Kiatmoo9 is aiming to build on his debut ONE Super Series victory in front of a home crowd at the Impact Arena.

The two-division Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion will have to get past Rui Botelho to continue his ascent in the flyweight division.

The Netherlands’ Pieter Buist will enter ONE in good form off the back of five consecutive victories and his capture of the WFL World Championship.

He will meet Kota Shimoishi in a lightweight mixed martial arts encounter in his promotional debut in Bangkok.
