Two-division ONE World Champion Reinier “The Dutch Knight” de Ridder is in the holiday spirit.
The 31-year-old is eager to make his return to the Circle, but today, the reigning middleweight and light heavyweight king is feeling particularly festive.
With Christmas here this weekend, the Dutchman is playing the role of Santa Claus and giving out gifts to some of the promotion’s biggest stars.
Aung La N Sang
“A handshake and a congrats on a great career, man. He’s a great fighter. I still like the guy. I’d like to go down there [to Sanford MMA in Florida]. I’m planning a trip to America in January, so I might visit them when I’m over there.”
Brandon Vera
“Same thing. Congrats, handshake, pat on the back. Congrats on a great career. He’s been a great fighter. I think it’s not nice to say maybe, but it might be over. He’s done good for himself, he’s done good for his family. He can be proud of himself.”
Vitaly Bigdash
“Let me see how I’ll phrase this – I’ll give him a contract that he cannot terminate. I’ll give him a contract that he cannot terminate because this guy always signs but never shows up. It’s time to show up.”
Arjan Bhullar
“I’ll treat him to a rear-naked choke.”
Kiamrian Abbasov
“Yes, I’d give him some knees to the head and a rear-naked choke as well.”
Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida
“Just props, man. One of the greatest grapplers to ever do it. A real idol of mine. I hope he does well in his career. Great fighter. I’d give him some rounds. It would be cool to train with him. I really look up to the guy.”
Anatoly Malykhin
“Hmmm, some chickens!”
