Roman Kryklia, Tiffany Teo, Rodrigo Marello Earn Performance Bonuses At ONE 161
ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong awarded US$50,000 performance bonuses to a trio of fighters who delivered highlight-reel finishes and showcased their gamesmanship at ONE 161: Petchmorakot vs. Tawanchai on Thursday, September 29.
Those fighters were reigning ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Champion Roman Kryklia, Singaporean MMA star Tiffany Teo, and Brazilian grappler Rodrigo Marello.
Kryklia was awarded a performance bonus for his 52-second demolition of Guto Inocente in the ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix semifinals.
The towering Ukrainian knocked down the Brazilian powerhouse with a crushing right hand just moments into the contest and then finished the job with a rattling head kick.
Teo earned a US$50,000 in her atomweight debut.
The former two-time ONE Women’s Strawweight World Title challenger dominated Indian wrestling sensation Ritu Phogat, ultimately submitting her via rear-naked choke with just seconds remaining in the first round.
Marello received the first performance bonus of the night for his record-setting win.
The Brazilian used an ankle lock to tap out Russian sambo specialist Ruslan Bagdasarian in only 15 seconds, giving him the fastest submission grappling victory in ONE Championship history.
