Star Athletes Bring Their Pets Into The Home Workout Craze
With martial arts gyms still closed and governments around the world telling their citizens to stay at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people have been forced to find new ways to stay in shape.
ONE Championship’s elite athletes have already come up with some ingenious methods to make the most of what they have around them. That includes exercising with their pets.
Some of these animal lovers are getting their cats and dogs involved to add some extra resistance to their workouts.
Here are just six of the exercises their furry friends have managed to take part in.
#1 Squats
Squats are one of the most fundamental and useful exercises for a martial artist, and ONE’s most famous cat lady, Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan, realizes their importance.
The Malaysian star is loading up this posterior chain exercise with her feline friend to add some extra weight to her workout.
#2 Russian Twists
Jihin’s cats are just as versatile as she is.
If you do not have a kettlebell or any weight plates handy, then grab a moggy and work out your core with this Russian Twist.
#3 Push-Ups
Anthony “The Archangel” Engelen is doing his home workouts on his balcony, and his pitbull, Rolo, is getting in on the action.
The pup’s muscular frame is helping the Dutch-Indonesian mixed martial artist to get the most out of his push-ups.

#4 Wall Sits
ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion “Unstoppable” Angela Lee is building up the strength in her quads, glutes, and calves with these isometric wall sits.
These are tough using just your bodyweight, but adding Athena the American Bulldog into the mix makes it a killer.
#5 Bicep Curls
Japan’s Hiroki Akimoto is killing two birds with one stone.
The Japanese Muay Thai specialist gets to play with his German Shepherd, Kelly, and keep her entertained indoors, while simultaneously sculpting his guns.
#6 Car Pushes
Malaysian sensation Agilan “Alligator” Thani is making the most of the empty roads near his home by blasting his conditioning with car pushes.
As if pushing a vehicle wasn’t enough, two of his dogs, Premium and Mimo, wanted to come along for the ride.
