The 5 Best Knockouts From Indonesia’s Top Superstars

Adi Paryanto defeats Angelo Bimoadji at ONE DAWN OF VALOR YK4_0879

Indonesia’s mixed martial artists have masterfully displayed their striking arsenals with some incredible knockout victories in ONE Championship.

Although their martial arts backgrounds are often diverse, they bring plenty of firepower to the Circle, and they have delivered some memorable stoppage wins to thrill their compatriots and the global fanbase.

Now, take the opportunity to relive some of those spectacular moments. Here are five of the greatest knockouts from Indonesia’s top superstars.

Sunoto Blasts Heng With Ground And Pound

“The Terminator” Sunoto employed a grappling-heavy strategy against Chan Heng at ONE: QUEST FOR POWER in January 2017 and, ultimately, he got the win with a barrage of strikes in the first round.

Sunoto took his Cambodian rival down in the opening seconds, quickly secured the mount position, and landed hard punches.

The Indonesian bantamweight rained down hammer fists, but Heng was able to turn away to survive. He did not let the Cambodian off the hook, however, as he set up the bout-ending sequence when his opponent turned back around.

Sunoto trapped Heng’s left arm with his knee to prevent him from defending, and then he drilled him with a stream of right hands to earn the stoppage.

Paryanto’s Rib-Smashing Knee Drops Bimoadji

The all-Indonesian clash between “Zenwalk” Adi Paryanto and Angelo “The Unicorn King” Bimoadji ended after just 64 seconds of action at ONE: DAWN OF VALOR in October 2019.

Sanda stylist Paryanto took it to his countryman from the opening bell. “The Unicorn King” looked for a takedown, but he was punished in the clinch when he failed to drag the contest to the mat.

“Zenwalk” forced Bimoadji back to the Circle Wall, and then he dropped his man with a right knee to the ribs. He followed it up with a left knee to the head to get the stoppage victory.

Lumban Gaol’s High Kicks Find The Mark On Boniface

Wushu stylist Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol showed off her striking repertoire against Malaysian competitor Audreylaura “Ice Comet” Boniface at ONE: KINGS OF COURAGE in January 2018.

“Thathie” scored with clean punches and kicks on her foe, and then she fended off Boniface’s takedown attempts.

As “Ice Comet” tried to come back with a low kick, Lumban Gaol fired off a right cross and left high kick, which wobbled the Malaysian.

Boniface stumbled backwards, and the Indonesian atomweight star chased after her with a pair of pinpoint kicks to the head. “Thathie” sealed the deal with a quickfire barrage of punches to get her first victory in The Home Of Martial Arts.

Mattheis’ Uppercut Finishes “The Unicorn King”

Adrian “Papua Badboy” Mattheis is a renowned finisher, with eight stoppage victories in nine successful promotional contests.

One of his most remarkable wins was his huge knockout over Bimoadji at ONE: CONQUEST OF HEROES in September 2018.

Mattheis battled his way back to his feet from underneath his compatriot’s side control position, and then he swung a looping right hand in his direction. “The Unicorn King” raised his hands and called him on — and the “Papua Badboy” obliged.

He stepped in with a jab-cross-hook combination. Bimoadji stayed in the pocket, but that was his undoing, as Mattheis followed with a left hook-right uppercut combination, which floored his rival and ended the match.

Engelen Drops Meul With Stunning High Kick

Dutch-Indonesian star Anthony “The Archangel” Engelen returned to the Circle against Meas Meul at ONE: HEART OF THE LION in November 2018, and he earned the fastest victory of his career.

The Cambodian Top Team representative was not afraid to engage, and he charged at Engelen with an overhand right. However, “The Archangel” timed his dip into the punch and then launched a right high kick that met his momentum.

Engelen’s shin found a home right on Meul’s jaw, and the strike dropped him face-first onto the canvas after just 39 seconds of action.
