The Stars Predict Regian Eersel Vs. Arian Sadikovic Kickboxing World Title Clash
ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Champion Regian Eersel has enjoyed a dominant run on the global stage, but his reign could come to a grinding halt this Friday, 22 April.
That evening, the Dutch-Surinamese kingpin will defend his gold against German challenger Arian Sadikovic in the main event of ONE 156, which broadcasts live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Eersel proudly owns a 57-4 record, with three of those victories being successful World Title defenses. What’s more, he has won 18 consecutive fights.
However, the seemingly unstoppable king may meet his match in the destructive machine they call “Game Over.” Sadikovic owns a 22-3 record and impressed in his promotional debut by beating former ONE World Title challenger Mustapha Haida.
Ahead of ONE 156, some of the world’s most beloved martial arts stars predict the winner of the show’s headline attraction.
Alain Ngalani
“Eersel is a beast, man. In that World Title challenge, the German has no chance. Eersel is going to take that. That’s what I think.”
Liam Harrison
“Regian Eersel is my favorite kickboxer. I love that guy. He’s a beast and exciting every time that he fights. I haven’t seen anyone beat him in ONE yet either, so there’s no blueprint on how to beat him under those rules. I’m going with Regian Eersel because he’s a badass!”
Eduard Folayang
“I predict Regian Eersel will win this fight by knockout. He’s just the better fighter overall. His reach advantage will be a significant factor. That’s the problem a lot of his opponents face, and it’s definitely hard to overcome.
“Also, he’s been very active and has had a lot of experience in ONE, as well as having been successful in defending his title. I think those are the biggest factors for the fight. Arian Sadikovic is a good fighter. Regian Eersel is just better.”
Lito Adiwang
“Arian Sadiković has a strong kickboxing game, and he has speed in his strikes, both with his boxing and his kicks. But I just don’t see him beating the champion.
“I see Regian Eersel retaining his lightweight kickboxing belt, stopping Sadikovic in the later rounds. Eersel is the more accurate striker with more power in his strikes. He’s also sharper, in my opinion, and has a finer striking arsenal than Sadikovic.”
Adrian Mattheis
“I still think that Regian Eersel will own his opponent. Who has been able to knock this legend down so far? He’s simply an unbeatable champion and his knees can knock your head off.
“[Arian] Sadikovic, in my opinion, doesn’t have a good reach, and he has a height disadvantage. His punch is good, his hook and straight are cool, but I am sure Eersel can block them. Meanwhile, Eersel has a perfect stature for a kickboxer. And he’s tall, so he has a reach advantage. I predict we’ll see a good brawl throughout the rounds and Eersel will end up defending his belt once again.”
