Third-degree BJJ black belt Leandro “Brodinho” Issa picked up the 12th submission win of his mixed martial arts career against Fu Chang Xie at ONE: ROOTS OF HONOR.
The Brazilian had to work for it, as Fu’s willingness to battle to the bitter end kept him in the contest longer than most.
“Brodinho” mounted his rival after he had scored a takedown and slipped off for an armbar attempt that hyperextended the Chinese athlete’s elbow joint, but he did not quit.
Issa had to change tactics and switched to a deep triangle choke. He cinched it up tightly but still, Fu resisted and tried to punch his way out. However, one final switch back to an armbar finished the job when Issa stuffed his opponent’s arm across his hip to find the extra leverage to get the tap.

“The Stalker” Xie Bin threw everything at Ahmad “Lycan” Qais Jasoor before he found a way to dispatch Afghanistan’s leading mixed martial artist at ONE: ROOTS OF HONOR.
Xie threatened with heel hooks and chokes, but Jasoor hung on until the halfway point of the second stanza. “Lycan” escaped from the bottom and tried to work for his own guillotine choke, but as soon as “The Stalker” freed his head, he began his bout-ending offensive.
With Jasoor on all-fours, the Chinese athlete threaded his right arm under his opponent’s armpit and connected it to his left bicep. He then tilted “Lycan” onto his side and dropped to his left to put on the finishing squeeze for another D’Arce choke win.

Garry “The Lion Killer” Tonon has showcased a huge array of skills in The Home Of Martial Arts, but he returned to the technique that earned him so many accolades in submission grappling to defeat Yoshiki Nakahara.
At ONE: ENTER THE DRAGON, the American BJJ standout grabbed a single-leg takedown on the Japanese athlete, but fell back into an ashi-garami leg entanglement instead of working to top position.
With a vice-like grip on his rival’s right leg, Tonon stopped Nakahara from pulling his leg free, and then switched to the heel hook grip and torqued the heel to get the tap.

Mei “V.V.” Yamaguchi was in no mood to work overtime when she entered the ring at ONE: ENTER THE DRAGON.
She took Laura “La Gladiadora” Balin to the canvas in the opening minute of their contest, and immediately sought to advance her position and attack.
The two-time World Title contender first latched on to an arm-triangle choke that looked tight, but her tough Argentinian rival resisted. Yamaguchi decided on another route and passed to the mount position where she landed hard punches.
As Balin extended her arms to try and defend from the strikes, Yamaguchi quickly wrapped it up and stepped her left leg over Balin’s head so she could fall back to crank an armbar and elicit a quick tap inside the first round.

Rahul “The Kerala Krusher” Raju‘s boxing put him in command of his contest with Richard “Notorious” Corminal, but he had his early dominance shattered at ONE: ENTER THE DRAGON when he was sent to the canvas twice with hard punches.
However, Raju was able to react and latch onto a single-leg takedown to put the Filipino on his back. He then quickly passed his rival’s guard and took the back, where he planted hard hooks on the side of his head.
As “Notorious” propped himself up to try to escape, “The Kerala Krusher” quickly sank in a tight rear-naked choke and fell backward to secure the position and a comeback finish.
