After six years away from the sport, Muay Thai legend Sagetdao “Deadly Star” Petpayathai made his ONE Super Series debut with an impressive unanimous decision victory over “Bamboo Sword” Zhang Chunyu in their featherweight battle.
The multiple-time Muay Thai World Champion put in a workmanlike performance against “Bamboo Sword,” chipping away at the Chinese star over the course of three rounds. Zhang’s defense was solid enough to avoid knockout blows, but he could not outgun the Evolve star.
Throughout nine minutes of action, Sagetdao showed off a full-range of striking skills. His punches from distance were accurate, he was diligent inside the clinch, and his leg kicks were able to break down Zhang’s forearms.
And “Deadly Star” only got more impressive as the bout drew onward. In the third and final stanza, his straight left found its mark repeatedly to stymie Zhang’s forward momentum, and his thudding leg kicks continued to echo throughout the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Ultimately, Sagetdao’s long-awaited return to Muay Thai was a textbook example of elite technique that could be studied in any training facility around the globe.

Han Zi Hao showcased his speed throughout his victory over Mohammed “Jordan Boy” Bin Mahmoud in their ONE Super Series Muay Thai bantamweight affair in “The Lion City.”
Following a competitive start, a right cross from Han connected cleanly in the second round, forcing a standing eight-count to be administered.
And while the Malaysian was able to continue, another eight-count soon followed after a rapid-fire combination saw the Chinese star land three crisp right hands.
Once again, “Jordan Boy” was able to continue, but Han knew he was close to getting the finish.
The Chinese bantamweight was patient when the third round began, waiting for the window of opportunity to open. He then found that moment with a stinging right cross and a darting left punch that sent Mahmoud crashing to the mat.
Although “Jordan Boy” got to his feet, the referee waved off the fight.
The victory moved Han – a former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title challenger – one step closer to another shot at the gold.

Flyweights Azwan Che Wil and “Metal Storm” Wang Wenfeng did not waste a single second in their three-round ONE Super Series Muay Thai clash.
Active from the opening bell, both men had their moments in the first round, throwing everything but the kitchen sink at one another.
But as the contest drew on, Wang – the #4-ranked kickboxing contender – became more accurate and more efficient with his strikes.
“Metal Storm” scored the most significant strike of the match in the third frame. As the Malaysian came forward, Wang landed a right elbow before firing off a knee to the midsection. Che Wil defended, but the Chinese hero slipped to his other side and landed another right elbow to the head that dropped the N41 Subang Red Horse Gym representative.
The third-round knockdown sealed the deal, and Wang picked up a critical victory in his quest to climb the flyweight ladder in ONE Super Series.
