What ONE’s Heroes Were Up To This Week

Cameroonian Alain Ngalani prepares for battle and shows off his incredible physique.

The second week of August has been great for ONE Championship’s heroes.

Most of our world-class athletes have been training and further sharpening their tools. However, a few of them did some particularly entertaining things in the gym, and a handful ventured elsewhere to partake in some celebrations.

As always, it has been a busy week. Here is what seven of our heroes did over the past seven days.

Alain Ngalani Does Pull-Ups With A Twist

Last week, Alain “The Panther” Ngalaniimpressed the social media world by performing a full split on a pair of power-plyo boxes.

This week, the Hong Kong hulk captured our attention by doing some pull-ups with a young girl hanging on his back.

Also, the four-time Muay Thai and Kickboxing Heavyweight World Champion used this entertaining post to tell the world he is healed from injury, teasing his imminent return to action.

Bibiano Fernandes Is Back In Training

A good workout today. Focused for my next challenge.

Ngalani is not the only athlete who is at full strength.

ONE Bantamweight World Champion Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes appears healthy again, and he wants the whole world to know it.

The Brazilian has officially returned to training at Revolution Martial Arts & Fitness in British Columbia, Canada, for an inevitable World Champion versus World Champion showdown with interim titleholder Kevin Belingon.

He is so pumped for the future main-event bout, he tagged the Filipino on his personal page to let him know he is getting ready.

Kevin Belingon Celebrates At Home

Speaking of “The Silencer,” his World Title-winning celebration has continued.

This week, the local government in his native Ifugao commemorated Belingon’s ONE Interim Bantamweight World Title victory with a special motorcade that passed through various towns in the region.

The motorcade ended in his hometown of Kiangan, where a public feast, or “Hamul,” was held.

Belingon wore a tribal Ifugao headdress, which many of his fans were sporting that day. He also rocked a Tapis for a photo shoot, which can be seen here.

If he can defeat Fernandes next, there is no doubt the celebration will be even bigger.

Amir Khan’s Sunday Adventure

Amir Khan kicked off the week with some fun.

He went to the Tanjong Beach Club in Sentosa, Singapore, for a day of rest and relaxation. That also happened to include a little bit of sand volleyball, and indulging in a few donuts.

The 23-year-old Singaporean had better enjoy it, because he will be in hard training for the next few weeks in anticipation of his lightweight clash with Team Lakay’s Honorio Banario at ONE: BEYOND THE HORIZON on 8 September.

Kairat Akhmetov Returns To Kazakhstan

Former ONE Flyweight World Champion Kairat “The Kazakh” Akhmetov has returned to his homeland for a visit, but it is clear he is remaining active on the mats.

The 30-year-old stopped by Qazaqstan Top Team during his trip back home to get in some quality training, in anticipation of his upcoming clash with “The Southern Eagle” Ma Hao Bin at ONE: CONQUEST OF HEROES on 22 September.

The three-time Kazakh National Greco-Roman Wrestling Champion showed off his Brazilian jiu-jitsu white belt, but given his grappling success in the cage so far, it is safe to say his skills go far beyond his rank.

Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan has enjoyed the past few days.

The world-class kickboxing sensation recently joined the Evolve Fight Team, and he is currently training back in his hometown of Milan, Italy as he awaits his next bout.

Although he posts training videos and pictures from his recent promotional shoots on Instagram, he also gave love to his dog, who often accompanies the two-time K-1 World Max Champion to the Team Leone Petrosyan gym.

Here, the world champion and his four-legged friend are roaming around the neighborhood.

Martin Nguyen Celebrates A Special Birthday

Two-division ONE World Champion Martin Nguyen is making the most of his break from competition.

“The Situ-Asian” was able to take some time away from the gym and the rigors of training to celebrate his wife’s birthday. They went to the beach to get some rest and relaxation.

Brooke has been the rock in her husband’s life, and she continues to motivate and support him in all of his endeavors — both inside the cage, and out of it. She is a big reason why he is the ONE Featherweight & Lightweight World Champion. Happy Birthday Mrs. Nguyen!
