Xiong Jing Nan’s 3 Most Explosive Knockouts

"The Panda" Xiong Jing Nan defeats Tiffany Two via KO

All martial artists can learn striking techniques, but few have the innate gift of bout-ending power like “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan.

The ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion has built an incredible skill set to harness that rare quality, and it has paid dividends on her run to the top in ONE Championship.

In five winning performances inside the Circle, the Chinese hero has knocked out four of her opponents and left no doubt about her status as the top female strawweight mixed martial artist on the planet.

Here are the top three knockouts from Xiong’s stunning tenure on the global stage so far.

#1 A Sensational ONE Debut

After a blazing 12-1 start to her mixed martial arts career, “The Panda” made her first appearance on the global stage against April Osenio at ONE: WARRIORS OF THE WORLD in December 2017.

The Chinese athlete’s coming-out party did not take long as she put an abrupt end to the bout at 3:44 of the first round.

Osenio survived a guillotine choke attempt from “The Panda,” and then she stood up to invite a striking exchange. However, her plan did not work out, as the former Chinese National Boxing Team representative set to work with her fists.

A heavy right hand clipped Osenio and forced her back against the Circle Wall. Xiong knew her opponent was stunned, so she unleashed a torrent of power punches in her direction.

She hammered the Filipina with a barrage of looping shots until a final right hook landed on the jaw and crumpled the Team Lakay product to the canvas for a monumental debut victory.

#2 A World Championship Knockout

After her stunning debut, the Evolve MMA representative met Tiffany “No Chill” Teo for the inaugural ONE Women’s Strawweight World Championship at ONE: KINGS OF COURAGE in January 2018.

Teo’s incredible durability helped her through some tough spots, but the Chinese superstar’s aggression and punching power finally broke the Singaporean in the championship rounds.

A beautiful overhand right-left body kick combination was the beginning of the end for “No Chill.” Once again, Xiong saw that her opponent was hurt and dialed up the pressure in search of a finish.

Teo tried to keep her advancing foe at bay with a push kick, but “The Panda” responded with a crisp three-punch combination, which dropped the Team Highlight Reel athlete to the mat.

The referee stepped in at 2:17 of round four to give Xiong the TKO victory that started her reign as the ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion.

#3 “The Panda” Overcomes Adversity

In one of the biggest matches in ONE history, atomweight queen “Unstoppable” Angela Lee stepped up to challenge Xiong for her strawweight gold in a colossal World Champion vs. World Champion tilt at ONE: A NEW ERA in March 2019.

“The Panda” showed the heart of a champion as she battled through a tight reverse-triangle choke and then a deep armbar at the end of round four. Many would have folded at that point, but the Chinese hero wowed the fans with her display of grit.

Lee put all her energy into her submission attempts and, as a result, she did not have much left in the tank at the start of the fifth and final round. Xiong wisely targeted the United MMA star’s body to maximize her chances of finishing her depleted rival.

She connected with a side kick to the gut, which backed the Singaporean up, and then followed it up with a crippling straight right to the solar plexus, which took the wind out of the “Unstoppable” athlete’s sails. In trademark fashion, “The Panda” came forward with heavy punches and right kicks to the body until the referee called a halt to the action.

Xiong showed that she had the warrior spirit to overcome adversity, and she cemented herself as one of the world’s greatest female competitors through determination, grit, and unquestionable power.
