Six-time Philippine Muay Thai Champion Ryan Jakiri grew up in dire circumstances. His parents had split up, and he dropped out of school after junior high so that he could collect plastic bottles and scrap metal to help make ends meet. However, he had martial arts to help him through these tough times.

When he was 9 years old, his father enrolled him in a Muay Thai summer program at school to help him deal with the bullying he was going through. Jakiri quickly fell in love with Muay Thai and dreamed of becoming a star in the sport, idolizing the likes of Buakaw and Saenchai. He later made his dreams a reality as a member of the Philippine national Muay Thai team, going 9-3 with all but one of his wins by way of knockout to capture six national titles.

After winning an I-1 WMC Light Welterweight Championship, Jakiri sought a greater challenge. He found that in the form of ONE Super Series, where he can test his skills against the very best strikers in the world. He hopes to make his Filipino countrymen proud with his performances on the global stage, and is determined to use his exciting, all-action style to achieve success.
