Recapping Superlek’s Epic 10-Fight Win Streak Before He Challenges Jonathan Haggerty At ONE 168: Denver
“The Kicking Machine” Superlek Kiatmoo9 is one of the greatest strikers of this generation – and is now cementing himself as an all-time great.
The reigning ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion has won 10 fights in a row in the world’s largest martial arts organization, and he’ll bring that momentum into his challenge for two-sport gold against Jonathan “The General” Haggerty at ONE 168: Denver.
The pair will battle for the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title on September 6 at Ball Arena, and Superlek has every right to feel confident.
Here, we recap “The Kicking Machine’s” stunning run of form before he goes for his 11th straight win and a second ONE belt on United States soil.
#1 Taiki Naito – May 20, 2022
Superlek kick-started his streak with a dominant decision win over Taiki “Silent Sniper” Naito at ONE 157.
The matchup came in the opening round of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix, and “The Kicking Machine” showed why he was an early favorite.
The Thai superstar blasted Naito’s legs with low kicks and then rocked him with elbows en route to a convincing unanimous decision.
#2 Walter Goncalves – August 27, 2022
Superlek met former ONE World Title challenger Walter “Iron Hands” Goncalves in his next assignment, and he didn’t need three rounds to get the job done at ONE on Prime Video 1.
The 28-year-old took just 95 seconds to drop and then finish the Brazilian with elbows, booking his place in the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix Championship Final.
#3 Panpayak Jitmuangnon – December 3, 2022
As two of the fiercest rivals in modern Muay Thai, Superlek and Panpayak Jitmuangnon squared off for the eighth time at ONE 164.
There was an element of anticlimax as neither man passed weight or hydration – which meant they could not win the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix Championship belt – but they still offered up another exciting battle.
It was close, but “The Kicking Machine” used his heavy low and body kicks against Panpayak’s stiff punches to claim a split-decision victory.
#4 Daniel Puertas – Jan 14, 2023
With Ilias Ennahachi’s move to bantamweight leaving the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title vacant, Superlek faced Daniel Puertas for the crown at ONE Fight Night 6.
“The Kicking Machine” threw everything at Puertas during the grueling five-round war, but nothing deterred the Spaniard from wading in with heavy punches.
Despite eating some heavy hands throughout, Superlek’s more well-rounded arsenal of punching, kicking, and kneeing saw him take the crown by unanimous decision.
#5 Danial Williams – March 25, 2023
The first defense of Superlek’s ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title came against “Mini T” Danial Williams at ONE Fight Night 8 – and it ended in spectacular fashion.
Williams stepped up to face the injured Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon on late notice and put on an admirable display, but “The Kicking Machine” found his finish midway through the scheduled five rounds.
Superlek first dropped “Mini T” with a head kick and then blitzed his foe with knees and punches to secure the TKO at 1:55 of round three.
#6 Nabil Anane – June 23, 2023
After claiming back-to-back WMC Muay Thai World Titles, Nabil Anane was riding high coming into his debut at ONE Friday Fights 22, but Superlek brought the surging phenom back down to earth.
“The Kicking Machine” was back in Muay Thai for this flyweight clash – and he came out firing.
After pressuring Anane with low kicks, the Thai legend drilled his younger foe with a straight right to the body to score a first-round finish.
#7 Tagir Khalilov – July 14, 2023
Just three weeks after blitzing Anane, Superlek faced Tagir Khalilov in a Muay Thai main event at ONE Fight Night 12.
The Kiatmoo9 man continued to show his more aggressive streak with a flurry of punches, jumping knees, and elbows in round one.
He dropped Khalilov with an elbow in round two and then finished the Russian with a barrage of knees and elbows at 1:42 for his third consecutive knockout.
#8 Rodtang Jitmuangnon – September 22, 2023
The fight between Superlek and Rodtang had been a long time in the making, and fans could not wait to see the two global superstars slug it out for the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title at ONE Friday Fights 34.
Unfortunately, because Superlek missed weight, it became a 140-pound non-title contest, but the pair still delivered one of the greatest showcases in Muay Thai history.
Rodtang cut his compatriot with an elbow in round one, but “The Kicking Machine” returned the favor and put his rival on the canvas with an elbow in round two.
Rodtang went after his foe in round three, but Superlek dodged most of the biggest shots and countered well to claim the unanimous decision victory.
#9 Takeru Segawa – January 28, 2024
Rodtang was due to fight Takeru “The Natural Born Crusher” Segawa at ONE 165, but when “The Iron Man” was forced out due to injury, Superlek was more than happy to take his place and put his ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title on the line.
“The Kicking Machine” kept the range well by ramming his jab into Takeru’s face before smashing his lead leg with low kicks.
Despite building up a lead, Superlek nearly had it all ripped away during a furious flurry from “The Natural Born Crusher” in the third round – but he managed to keep his head.
From there, the Thai continued to evade Takeru’s biggest punches and fired away with jabs, stepping knees, and kicks to cement a historic victory.
#10 Kongthoranee Sor Sommai – June 28, 2024
Boasting an impressive seven-fight winning streak, Kongthoranee Sor Sommai started his career on ONE’s global roster against Superlek at ONE Friday Fights 68.
However, it seemed like the newcomer was dazzled by the occasion and the name in front of him, as he allowed Superlek to dictate most of the contest.
The fearless style Kongthoranee had displayed to earn a six-figure contract didn’t get a chance to shine, as Superlek instead controlled proceedings with his kicks, elbows, and knees en route to a one-sided decision win.
