Tawanchai, Seo Hee Ham Crash ONE’s Athlete Rankings
A pair of megastars have earned some highly coveted spots in the prestigious ONE Athlete Rankings.
In the latest update, Thailand’s Tawanchai PK.Saenchai Muaythaigym became the #4 contender in ONE’s bantamweight Muay Thai division, while South Korea’s “Arale Chan” Seo Hee Ham took the #5 position in ONE’s atomweight mixed martial arts picture.
Tawanchai has long been considered one of the top pound-for-pound Muay Thai fighters on Bangkok’s stadium circuit, and he provided ONE’s global fan base with a sample of his striking brilliance in May.
In the co-main event of ONE: DANGAL, the 21-year-old phenom demolished WBC Muay Thai World Champion Sean “Clubber” Clancy. Tawanchai utilized all eight of his limbs to perfection, hammering the Irishman with massive blows and ultimately finishing him with a head kick in the third round.
The dominant victory moved Tawanchai’s career record to 125-30 (2 NC) and lifted him into the bantamweight Muay Thai rankings. In the process, former bantamweight kickboxing king Alaverdi “Babyface Killer” Ramazanov moved down one spot to #5.
Ham owns a 23-8 professional record, is riding a six-bout winning streak, and joined ONE’s roster as a Mixed Martial Arts Champion from some of Asia’s leading promotions.
The South Korean is considered a favorite to win the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix. She will carry her new #5 ranking into the quarterfinal round, where she will face undefeated #1-ranked contender Denice Zamboanga.
