An intriguing welterweight bout will see one of the sport’s most respected veterans face an undefeated rising star, as Yushin “Thunder” Okami meets James Nakashima.
Okami will go in search of his first win in The Home Of Martial Arts, while his American rival hunts for his third, as well as the 12th overall victory of his spotless career.
If Nakashima can complete his hat trick of victories in the world’s largest martial arts organization, then he will make a strong case to challenge Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam for the ONE Welterweight World Championship.
Five weight classes further down the ladder, high-octane action looks to be a certainty when Pongsiri “The Smiling Assassin” Mitsatit takes on Miao Li Tao in a strawweight contest.
Both men are coming off highlight-reel wins in the first round – a knockout via knee to the body against Robin Catalan, and a demolition of former ONE Strawweight World Champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke, respectively.
Again, this encounter of Thailand versus China could have major implications for the contendership picture in the weight class, which is currently ruled by Joshua “The Passion” Pacio.
Also at the event, the Manila faithful are sure to be on their feet for the return of Team Lakay’s Edward “The Ferocious” Kelly.
Fresh off a thrilling TKO win in the same building against Sung Jong Lee in April, the Filipino hero will welcome “The Stalker” Xie Bin to the featherweight division.
The young Chinese star has torn through the bantamweight division in the past two and a half years with six consecutive wins. He will now aim to make it six finishes in a row at ONE: DAWN OF HEROES.
Finally, Malaysia’s “Jungle Cat” Muhammad Aiman will make his return to the Circle after more than six months away from action.
The Bali MMA-trained athlete will face Indonesia’s “The Terminator” Sunoto in a bantamweight contest.
