4 Ways To Discover Athlete Comparisons On The ONE Super App
This coming Friday, 29 October, the world’s largest martial arts organization closes the month with ONE: NEXTGEN at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Fans all across the globe can watch the event through a variety of different mediums, but those watching on the ONE Super App may notice a brand new feature that will allow them to compare two athletes’ skills and attributes on the spot.
Here are four ways to compare athletes on the ONE Super App.
#1 Compare Athletes Through Bout Cards
The quickest way to check out athlete comparisons is through the upcoming bout cards, which feature every matchup in an event and one-click access to each fight breakdown.
For example, if you wanted to learn how Stamp Fairtex stacks up against Julie Mezabarba before their ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix semifinal bout on Friday, you could do that in a few simple steps.
Just click the bell icon on the bottom menu, select the ONE: NEXTGEN event page, scroll down to the bout card listing, and touch the weighted balance icon to see the fight breakdown.
#2 Compare Athletes Through Roster Pages
If you wanted to compare two athletes, but the bout card listing option isn’t available, then you can go through a fighter’s roster page instead.
For this example, we’ll compare ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon with MMA GOAT Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson – who are scheduled to collide in a special rules super-fight at ONE X in 2022.
Get started by clicking the kicking fighter icon on the bottom menu and then the search button in the upper right-hand corner. Type “Demetrious Johnson” in the search, click on his profile, and then touch the weighted balance icon in the lower right-hand corner.
A split-screen will immediately open up, featuring DJ on the left side and a fighter’s silhouette on the right. Click the select button above the silhouette, type “Rodtang,” and then select his roster page to see the full breakdown.
#3 Compare Athletes Through ONE Rankings
A similar way to compare two athletes is through the ONE Rankings.
This time, we’ll compare ONE Bantamweight World Champion Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes with #1-ranked bantamweight contender John “Hands of Stone” Lineker – who will fight for the divisional gold at ONE X.
To get started, click the kicking fighter icon on the bottom menu and scroll down the ONE Rankings. Once you select the bantamweight category, a drop-down menu will list the reigning titleholder and the top five contenders.
As soon as you click the weighted balance icon next to Fernandes’ name, the split-screen will open up, featuring “The Flash” on the left side and a fighter’s silhouette on the right. Click the select button above the silhouette, type “John Lineker,” and then select his roster page to see the full breakdown.
#4 Compare Athletes Through ONE Fantasy
While this will be helpful for fans and pundits alike, the group that will benefit the most from these athlete comparisons are the gamers who compete in ONE Fantasy.
Fortunately, users can see the fight breakdowns while designing their fantasy teams. To provide some quick guidance, here’s how you can compare Ritu “The Indian Tigress” Phogat and Jenelyn Olsim before their ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix semifinal clash on Friday.
Begin the process by clicking the controller icon on the bottom menu and selecting the “Join Fantasy” button underneath the ONE: NEXTGEN event logo. From there, you’ll be able to start creating your team and can easily get the fight breakdown for every matchup by clicking the weighted balance icon with the word “COMPARE” in the center of the bout listing.
With these simple steps, you can create your fantasy team and join a league right up until ONE: NEXTGEN broadcasts live on Friday.
Good luck and have fun with the new athlete comparisons tool.
