5-Time MMA Champion Stephen Loman Joins ONE Championship
ONE Championship has added a new face to its stacked roster of elite athletes.
On Tuesday, the promotion announced the signing of five-time Mixed Martial Arts Champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman.
The Filipino is the latest star from the famed Team Lakay camp in Baguio City to enter ONE Championship.
“It’s an overwhelming opportunity, but I’m excited to join my Team Lakay brothers in the biggest martial arts organization in the world,” Loman says.
“I’m excited to enhance my skills on this platform and showcase my style to millions of viewers across the globe.”
At the age of 28, Loman is joining ONE in the absolute prime of his career. The Baguio City native owns a 14-2 mixed martial arts record and is currently riding an eight-bout winning streak.
In 2017, he beat Gurdarshan “Saint Lion” Mangat to win the Brave CF Bantamweight Championship in Bahrain. And after defending the belt four times, “The Sniper” earned the chance to take his talents to the global stage.

Now, Loman hopes to become the sixth member of Team Lakay to win a ONE World Title, which would follow in the footsteps of Honorio “The Rock” Banario, Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon, Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio and reigning ONE Strawweight World Champion Joshua “The Passion” Pacio.
“Of course, fighting in a new promotion and a new environment will be a challenge, but it’s one I’m more than willing to face,” Loman adds. “I’m ready to show ONE Championship fans the best of Stephen Loman.”
“The Sniper” is still uncertain if he’ll continue to compete at bantamweight or drop down to flyweight, but he’ll be an instant force in either weight class.
Given the amount of talent currently sitting atop both divisions, Loman will also face big challenges if he cracks the top-five rankings. However, he does have a valuable resource in his corner.
His coach, Mark Sangiao, has been raising ONE World Champions since the promotion’s inception in 2011, which means “The Sniper” is in very good hands as he prepares to compete on the global stage.
“I spoke to Stephen and he’s highly motivated right now,” Sangiao says.
“He can’t wait to get in the Circle and put on a show. Of course, I’ll be there for him, as well as all of his teammates at Team Lakay, every step of the way.”
