Alaverdi Ramazanov Drops Ognjen Topic 3 Times To Get First-Round TKO
Alaverdi “Babyface Killer” Ramazanov produced one of the finest performances of his ONE Super Series career on Friday, 16 August.
The Russian ace did not hold anything back in his battle against Ognjen Topic, as he finished the Serbian-American inside a single round at ONE: DREAMS OF GOLD in Bangkok, Thailand.
The two elite-level strikers went toe-to-toe in a ONE Super Series Muay Thai bantamweight contest inside the Impact Arena, but Ramazanov took control of the action from the opening bell and did not relent until the bout was waved off at the 2:25 mark.
Ramazanov, a three-time IFMA Muay Thai World Champion, got off to a quick start and made his breakthrough with a powerful front kick to Topic’s face.
The Serbian-American caught the kick and looked to sweep his man, but the 24-year-old Russian answered with a short right hand, which dropped his rival to the mat and forced referee Atsushi Onari to administer the first standing eight-count of the bout.
It was not long before Ramazanov scored his second knockdown. He connected with a perfectly-timed left hook, which sent Topic crashing back to the canvas.
The Russian had the opportunity to end the match if he could drop his rival one more time, and he raced against the clock to finish the job inside the opening stanza.
He pushed the pace and landed a stiff straight right that sent Topic to the ground for the third and final time.
The fans inside the Impact Arena rose to their feet as the referee immediately waved off the bout.
Ramazanov earned the 60th win of his Muay Thai career and after such an impressive stoppage win over a well-respected name in the sport, bigger things may be around the corner for the Russian martial arts star.
