Alvarez To Face Winner Of Gafurov-Ok At ‘ONE On TNT IV’
Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez is making a quick return to U.S. prime-time television and will help cap off the “ONE on TNT” event series in style.
The American mixed martial arts legend has been confirmed for the main card of “ONE on TNT IV,” which airs live on Wednesday, 28 April.
He will face the winner of the upcoming match between #5-ranked lightweight contender Marat “Cobra” Gafurov and South Korean debutant Ok Rae Yoon, which takes place at “ONE on TNT III” this coming Wednesday night.
Alvarez has been through a roller-coaster ride since the “ONE on TNT” series began.
The 37-year-old Philadelphia native kicked off the action by facing #2-ranked Iuri Lapicus at “ONE on TNT I” back on 7 April.
It looked like “The Underground King” was on his way to victory, but he was disqualified for unintentionally landing illegal strikes to the back of his opponent’s head.
That was a tough pill to swallow for the storied fighter, but he will have a chance to earn some redemption – and a spot in ONE’s lightweight rankings – at “ONE on TNT IV.”
Stay tuned for more details about “ONE on TNT IV,” and be sure to watch “ONE on TNT III” this Wednesday to see whether Alvarez will face Gafurov or Ok.
