Angela Lee On A Possible Trilogy Bout Against Mei Yamaguchi
The rivalry between “Unstoppable” Angela Lee and Mei “V.V.” Yamaguchi is one of the greatest in ONE Championship.
The two first competed for the inaugural ONE Atomweight World Title in May 2016, in what is still considered to be one of the most exciting bouts in the promotion’s history.
Their rematch in May was another back-and-forth thriller, but on each occasion, Lee has come out on top.
However, both contests were close and competitive, and many fans are still hungry for a third.
In an exclusive interview with ONE play-by-play commentator Michael Schiavello in Japan, the Singapore hero did not rule out a trilogy bout in the future.
“Fighting Mei is always something that brings out the best in me, and brings out the best in her,” she said.
“We both benefit exponentially from each fight. I would be up for it – why not?”

Lee’s next task involves her moving up a weight division to face the winner of the ONE Women’s Strawweight World Title match between “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan and Samara “Marituba” Santos.
That bout is set to take place at ONE: BEYOND THE HORIZON in Shanghai, China’s Baoshan Arena on Saturday, 8 September.
