Aung La N Sang Battles Tial Thang In Axe-Throwing Contest
It may be a little while before two-division ONE World Champion Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang steps back into the Circle to defend his coveted belts.
But even though he isn’t competing in mixed martial arts right now, the superstar athlete has found another activity to occupy his time and satisfy his competitive nature.
The 35-year-old Myanmar sports icon recently tested his luck in a friendly axe-throwing contest against compatriot and ONE Championship bantamweight “The Dragon Leg” Tial Thang.
Ultimately, things did not go Aung La N Sang’s way.
“The Burmese Python” was up first. His initial axe didn’t stick to the wooden target, although his second got the outer blue ring.
Then it was Tial Thang’s time to shine. His first attempt was perfect – nailing the bullseye – and his second landed right beside his opponent’s axe.
Perhaps “The Dragon Leg” could find himself on the World Axe Throwing Championship in the future. And given that Aung La N Sang is one of the top mixed martial artists in the world, there’s no doubt he’ll step up his game before the next axe-throwing challenge.
